Geophysical Investigations

Geophysical Investigations

Where appropriate, Juniper brings a variety of near surface/non-invasive geophysical methods for both archaeological and environmental applications. The appropriate geophysical method is determined in consultation with the client after reviewing site-specific data and identifying the particular goals of the investigation. Ground penetrating radar can be used to determine the depth and extent of many subsurface archaeological features. The radar penetrates to a great depth, which makes it useful in a variety of archaeological settings, although the resolution of subsurface features decreases as depth increases.
